Description
From zine: From Staple to Spine was inpsired by a January 2022 Instagram post from the Zines at the Trenton Library team (trenton.makes.zines), a video of zine-related books in their growing zine library. As the camera panned the shelf I thought: how many zine related books are out there, publications that went from being bound with staples to growing spines: individual title collections, multi-author anthologies, academic works, how-to-guides, and everything else? After intense searching of Worldcat, Goodreads, library zine finding guides, active and long-dormant zine information sites (eg, zinebook.com), and the Internet Archive, I compiled an initial list of 150 titles and kept adding more. After discussion with fellow zine publishers, I assembled: stapletospine.wixsite.com/about.
